Achievement & Ability Testing
Cyprus offers both Achievement and Abilities testing.
Achievement Tests: Achievement tests such MAP attempt to measure how much a student has learned in school and to measure the extent of knowledge about a specific curriculum. National norms are used to determine your child’s percentile rank. National norms are based on scores of students in both public and private schools. The students represent all levels of academic ability as well as all socioeconomic backgrounds. Ability Tests: (also called Aptitude Tests) Ability tests such as the NNAT (Naglieri Nonverbal Abilities Test) attempt to measure a student’s abstract, critical and logical reasoning abilities, i.e. how well a student can process verbal and quantitative information, interpret data, solve problems and think critically. The questions are designed to test thinking and reasoning power and the student’s capability for learning. |
